What is Project “GANGA”? All You Need To Know?

Uttar Pradesh Government, led by Yogi Adityanath, has launched an ambitious project named “GANGA”. It’s an initiative with a motto of connecting at least 2 million households across the whole state within the next 3 years. The project “GANGA FIBER” was announced by the Chief Minister itself from Lucknow and will be by OneOTT iNtertainment Limited (OIL), a part of the prestigious Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS).

What Exactly is Project GANGA?

Project GANGA stands for “Government Assisted Network for Growth & Advancement.” It’s an ambitious project of the UP Government to promote digital inclusion and also aims to connect more than 20 lakh people, making UP a frontrunner in terms of digitalization. To commemorate the event, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in March 2026 between the State Transformation Commission (STC, UP Govt.) and OneOTT iNtertainment Limited(a part of the Hinduja Global Solutions).

This bold initiative is designed in such a way that it will strengthen the existing infrastructure of the state and also provide access to online education, better healthcare, smooth governance, and remote work opportunities, especially in remote locations where private company hardly pays any attention.

Under the Project, the govt wants to create local Digital Service Providers (DSPs) in every district. The move aims to onboard at least 10K DSP at the Gram Panchayat level, which will enable the local people (entrepreneurs) to earn and provide last-mile connectivity, contributing positively to the digital inclusion of the state.

The project will generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs in the market. Not only this, but the government will also assist with onboarding, training, technology enablement, and the financing aspect.

During the launch, the Honorable Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath revealed that the Project “Government Assisted Network for Growth & Advancement” (GANGA) will be the engine of digital transformation in the state. It will generate at least 8,000–10,000 digital entrepreneurs, providing job opportunities for thousands of youths. The main emphasis will be given to womens that are expected to account for 50 percent of the total.

GANGA Broadband Plans

GANGA FIBER has been launched to improve the fiber connectivity across the state, which is right now limited to a few metro cities. It aims to provide high-speed internet connectivity to more than 2 million homes within the next 3 years.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was already signed in March 2026 between the State Transformation Commission (STC, UP Govt.) and OneOTT iNtertainment Limited(a part of the Hinduja Global Solutions) to execute the project on the ground. The company has already provided connectivity to more than 50 lakh homes and operates in more than 1500 cities.

The portal for registration under the Project GANGA has been live, allowing interested citizens to apply to become Digital Service Providers(DSP). GANGA FIBER is launched with an ambitious vision to expand broadband availability in the state, which will further expand entrepreneurship and digital connectivity across both urban and rural regions.
