BSNL Trying Hard To Have 99% Network Uptime

The state-owned telco, BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited), has recently revealed its ambitious target of achieving 99% network uptime. This move aims to further increase the customer base and promote it as a reliable service provider like the private players like Airtel and Jio.

If implemented correctly, this will improve the network quality of BSNL, and people might start trusting it again. This ambitious plan was revealed by the minister of state for communications, Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani.

He also revealed that the company has already achieved the target of 95% uptime, and now it’s on track to achieve the next 99% uptime. A few months back, BSNL also placed an order for more than 20,000 batteries for their towers to have a strong backup in case of a power cutoff.

Adding further, he also revealed that a lot of flexibility is provided as per the requirement in different circles, aiming to improve the network quality and reliability. The Indian government is trying its best to revive BSNL as an alternative choice in the Indian telecom market.

People don’t really trust BSNL mainly due to its poor network quality. Calling and not receiving bank & other messages on time are some of the most important reasons why people left BSNL. Still, when private players are competitively increasing their 5G network by adding more 5G cell towers, BSNL is still stuck with launching a fully functional 4G network in PAN India.

BSNL’s customer base is still less than 100 million, which means that there’s a lot of space for growth. With the right strategy and implementation, the giant might rise again as it once used to be. Now the time will tell what the fate of BSNL is.
