BSNL’s Financial Position is Improving in FY26
BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited), the state-owned telecom provider, is improving its financial position and revenue in the financial year 2026. The improvement came after the central government had invested more than 3 lakh crore in the PSU. Right now, the telecom provider is focusing more on its 4G expansion, and has EBITDA (core operating profit) of more than Rs 4,858 crores.
As per the media, the Union Telecom Minister of India has said, “The financial results have been extremely encouraging, which means that BSNL now is really showing healthy cash flows. BSNL is showing healthy signs of revival“. Talking about the revenue, the PSU has recorded a growth of 13% (total revenue – Rs 17,705 Crore) compared to the same period in the last year, but it still lags behind the target (Rs 27,500 Crore) set by the government by Rs 9,795 Crore.
Lastly, the ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) of BSNL has increased from Rs 81 to Rs 91, which is quite decent in terms of revenue and revival signs. The minister also revealed that the government is stressing more on satellite broadband communication by allowing the entry of private players like Jio, Airtel, and Starlink.
BSNL has also revealed that it will launch its indigenous 5G network (kind of soft launch) in Delhi by mid 2026. Now things are working out for BSNL, and we hope that its revival phase leads to a complete turnaround.
