BSNL Launched VoWiFi Service On New Year’s Eve

The State Owned BSNL(Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) has launched its much-awaited Voice over Wifi Calling (VoWiFi) feature on New Year’s Eve. Now, the users can enjoy the service across all the telecom circles in the nation.

The service will be a boon, especially for the remote and rural areas where the network coverage may not be that good. To use the VoWiFi service, users need to have a reliable Wi-Fi Connection, and using the wifi signal, users will be able to make their call even if they don’t have any network in their smartphones.

What it means is that now users don’t need to have full strength of network bars to make a call or send messages. Using the VoWiFi service, users can use a stable wifi to make calls, bypassing the earlier full network requirement. It helps to mitigate the network congestion during the peak hours and comes with no additional cost.

Not only the remote but also the urban area users can use the service to have uninterrupted connectivity when they are in areas with too much network congestion or weak signal areas, like basements, homes, and offices.

The best thing about it is that the users don’t need to install any 3rd party app to use it because VoWiFi(Voice Over Wireless Fidelity) is an IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem) service, which uses the built-in dialer and phone number to provide smooth connectivity. While making sure the users have a stable wifi connection overwise it’s not going to work.

How to use the VoWiFi services as a BSNL User? All the BSNL users just need to turn on or enable the WiFi Calling setting from their smartphone settings.
