The increased budget for the telecom sector, i.e., 73,000 crores, also includes funds for the flagship mission of the government, BharatNet, which aims to connect rural India with high-speed broadband. The government wants every village panchayat in India to have at least 100 Mbps of high-speed internet connection (broadband).
Especially for BSNL, the government is considering a plan to deploy 22,000 new 4G sites to strengthen and improve the quality of the network. This move will help BSNL to improve its service and further add more customers to its user base.
Apart from all these, the path for foreign companies, especially in cloud infrastructure, has been made a lot easier. To boost it even further, the new budget has provided a kind of tax-free environment for the foreign companies so they invest and create data centers & jobs in India.
