Jio Intra-Circle Roaming (ICR) Plans with BSNL
The largest telecom provider in India, Jio, has recently launched two ICR (Intra-Circle Roaming) plans with state-owned BSNL for its customers in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Using these plans, customers can use the BSNL Network in those remote areas where either Jio has no network or limited connectivity.
This service will help the user to enjoy data, calling, and SMS using the BSNL network without worrying about Jio Network Coverage at all. However, the service is available at selected locations like Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
Jio ICR Plan Details
Currently, Jio offers two different plans, i.e., ₹196 and ₹396. Both plans have the same validity of 28 days, while the difference lies in the data. The Rs 196 offers 2GB of data, 1000 SMS, and 1000 minutes of voice calls, while the Rs 396 offers 10 GB of data along with the same 1000 SMS, and 1000 minutes of voice calls.
To use the service, the customers need to have an active ICR (Intra-Circle Roaming) pack and make sure they are in those selected areas.
Activation & Coverage
As per the T&C, the plan will only work if your device has an appropriate BSNL Network, and the device must be in the CG and MP circle. The plan will help those subscribers who are living in rural and remote areas and ensure they have a smooth and reliable connectivity.
The plan remains activated and valid for its defined period upon recharging, and customers can renew it as per their requirement. It’s part of the teleco strategy to provide service to the unserved and at remote locations using the BSNL Network.
Why don’t these private players install towers in rural and remote locations?? The answer lies in the ROI, which means even if they install towers in such locations, it won’t make that much return as compared to an urban location. That’s one of the main reasons why rural India is still lagging in digital infrastructure.
